We understand that fit is especially important in ladies' clothing.  While optional, putting your measurements (bust, waist, hips, height) in the comments area on our checkout page will help us custom fit your garments specifically to your needs. 

Over time, we have found that many of you have special requests or ideas for  alterations.  Your ideas have often helped us come up with new garments and one of the main goals of our business is to custom fit each customer!  If you have a special request such as an extra long skirt on your dress, an altered bodice, a ruffle on a hem etc, simply e-mail us your request before ordering.  The "Contact Us" button is just to the left near the bottom of the menu.  Most alterations are quite inexpensive and we are able to honor almost all of them.  Our goal is not to make money on alterations, but to simply cover the cost of extra fabric and the time it takes to change the pattern.  We will e-mail you with a price of $3, $5, $7 or $10.  You can then use the pull down menu below to add the alteration to your shopping cart along with the rest of your order.

Charity's Cape Dress

For many, the cape dress defines what a modest dress should be.  Charity's Cape Dress has a full cape in front and back, a gentle elastic waist and invisible back zipper.  After trying many patterns, this is the only one we would consider offering to you.  It fits beautifully and drapes quite nicely.  The skirt is gently gathered at the waist and very full at the hem.  There are no extra bells and whistles on this dress.  It's a simple, practical design and reflects the daily dress of women from conservative Mennonite churches.  Pattern used by permission by Home-Sew Designing.

For those who desire a simple back zipper dress with an elastic waist, we can also make this dress without a cape.  Please see the options below.

Sizing for this dress is based on your bust and waist size.  Please measure carefully and use the dropdown menu to choose the appropriate size.  Because of the width of the skirt, we encourage you to use one of our Tropical Breeze fabrics.  In other fabrics, the skirt will still be full but not quite as wide as the pattern calls for at the hem.

Ladies Nicole's Dress

A popular style with small tucks at the waist, puffed elbow-length sleeves with narrow cuffs and a long, full skirt. The bodice falls just above the waist on most women.  It can be an everyday dress or a formal, special occasion outfit when made in the right fabric. Try adding a collar or long sleeves for variation. The basic dress comes without a collar (pointed and round collars shown) and short elbow-length sleeves with cuffs. Victoria's Dress

This is the dress we often make for ourselves.  Similar in design to Nicole's Dress, we remove the puffed sleeves and add sleeves without any gathers at the shoulders for a more mature look.  There are small tucks at the waist and a long, full skirt.  The bodice falls just above the waist on most women.  You may choose either elbow length hemmed sleeves or long, elastic ruffle sleeves (as shown). A pointed collar and back ties are included in the price.  Sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters".

Weekday Dress

Another dress appreciated by our customers. It is best described as a shirt-dress with a raised waist, a modified shirt collar and buttons down the bodice. Sleeves are short and the skirt is slightly less full than Nicole's Dress. Both long and short sleeves are straight with only a few tiny tucks at the shoulder. The shoulders are a little wider than most of our other dresses.  Removable back ties pull the dress in when desired.  A little different from our other dresses and a very nice style.  Pattern used by permission from "Everyday Dresses" by Taylor Made Designs.

Loretta's Dress

A simple design, Loretta's Dress has a waist length bodice, back zipper closure, peter pan collar and comes standard with elbow length short hemmed sleeves.  The skirt is gathered at the waist.  Sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters".

Mary's Dress

Another everyday design with short sleeves (shorter than our other dresses), a scoop neckline and front buttons.  The bodice ends at the natural waist and has darts in the front and back, giving this dress a tailored look.  The sleeves have small gathers at the shoulders but are not "puffy".  The skirt is gathered and full.  This is a great casual dress for a very reasonable price.  Sewn by permission from a pattern by Primrose Lane.

Sharon's Dress

This dress was designed by one of our customers.  The bodice is similar to Nicole's Dress and the sleeves are straight with very few gathers at the shoulders. A six-gore skirt creates a graceful and slimming look.  There are small tucks at the waist and options below for two different collars.  The bodice portion of this dress is sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters".

Pullover Dress

Super simple and quite pretty.  Our pullover dress has a gently scooped neckline and bodice which slips over the head without any need for buttons.  Back ties allow you to pull in the bodice for a better fit.  Sleeves are straight with only a few tiny tucks and hemmed.  The skirt can be gathered as shown or A-Line without gathers for a trimmer look.  Please see Overall Jumper for a picture of what the A-Line waistline looks like.  You are welcome to choose two different fabrics.  If so, when you list your fabrics please put the bodice fabric first and the skirt fabric second.  Pattern used by permission from "Everyday Dresses" by Taylor Made Designs.

Linda's Shirt Dress

This shirt dress reminds us of a classic jean dress.  It is versatile and comes with many options.  It fits quite loosely for busy days but has back ties to pull in the waist.  Sleeves are either short with a straight hem or long with cuffs.  The sleeves come with small gathers at the shoulder for ease of movement but you may request a straight sleeve without gathers.  The shirt collar folds back as shown but behind it there is a top button should you wish to button all the way up.  If so, the dress appears to have a simple square collar.  The skirt is gathered to the waist and is full at the hem but smaller at the waist.  If you want a true "jean dress" look, you may add buttons down the entire front of the dress.  Because this dress fits loosely, please give us your bust and waist measurements on the checkout page.  Most ladies are able to move down a size in this pattern.  We would not recommend this dress for ladies who are a small size 6.  Design licensed from KWIK.SEW Pattern Co., Inc.

Joy's Day Dress

A relaxed and youthful dress, Joy's Day Dress is perfect for busy moms or anyone else who gets a lot of work done during daylight hours.  The scoop neck does not come too low but easily slips over your head.  Sleeves are either short with a straight hem or long with cuffs.  They can have a few small gathers at the shoulders or be straight as shown.  The skirt is gathered to the waist and is cut quite full at the hem but smaller at the waist.  Two patch pockets are sewn to the front skirt, but can be removed if you prefer.  This dress fits quite loosely at the waist and comes with back ties.  Because of the loose fit, please give us your bust and waist measurements when you check out.  Most ladies are able to move down a size in this pattern.  We would not recommend this dress for anyone who is a small size 6.  Design licensed from KWIK.SEW Pattern Co., Inc.

A pullover dress with princess seams and a flared skirt.  This dress has a round neckline, short sleeves and ties in the back.  It is very similar to our girl's Sarah's Dress and would make nice mother/daughter combinations.  For fall and winter, just add 3/4 length sleeves.

Stripes Dress

A very simple design comes alive with coordinating tops in solids and skirts in fun stripes and plaids.  Bodice is fully lined and buttons in the back.  In ladies sizes, you may reqest a back zipper instead of buttons.  Short elbow length and long sleeves have tiny gathers at the top but are otherwise straight and hemmed.  This is a great everyday dress!  Please check "Stripes" section on our fabric page for our color suggestions. You may also mix and match from other fabrics on the site.  Made in a single fabric, this is one of our plainest looking dresses.

Ladies Winter Dress

A cool weather take on Nicole's dress, this dress comes with long, elastic ruffled sleeves that are slightly tapered.  The bodice has small tucks and a slight V neckline.  We especially like it in corduroy, denim or a small floral print in flannel.  A very nice dress at a great price!  Sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters".

Ladies Button Jumper

Identical to Girls Button Jumper, this is a comfortable jumper for everyday wear. Buttons come down the lined bodice, ending at a natural waist length. The skirt is long and full and gathered to the bodice. Sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters".

Kelly's Jumper

A shoulder-button jumper that matches our Kelly's Jumper for toddlers and girls.  The bodice is fully lined and has an empire waist.  It is comfortable for everyday wear and should work well during the first half of pregnancy.  The skirt is cut in an a-line shape making it full at the hem but not too bulky at the gathered waist.   Back ties are optional.  The arm holes are high enough that this jumper could be worn as a sundress without a t-shirt.

Ladies Overall Jumper

Similar to our Girls Overall Jumper, this jumper is especially nice in denim and cord for winter or coordinating prints in warmer seasons.  A bib bodice is attached to an A-line skirt without gathers.  A small pocket is is centered on the bib.  If you would like this jumper in two colors, please list the bib fabric first and the skirt/pocket fabric second.  Pattern used by permission from "More Jumpers" by Taylor Made Designs.

Ladies Amy's Jumper

Identical to Girls Amy's Jumper, this is a dressy, high-waisted jumper with a scoop neck and fully lined bodice. Buttons on bodice. We sometimes make this jumper a little shorter for ourselves so that a pettidress/blouseslip can show at the bottom. Yours will come regular length unless you request it shorter.  Pattern used by permission from Primrose Lane.

Ladies 6-Gore Skirt

Every once in a while, a pattern exceeds all our expectations.  This is a very attractive, flowing skirt that could be worn everyday or for a semi-formal occasion.  You may choose one or two fabrics.  An attached elastic waistband allows you to slip on the skirt but keeps the design slim.  Finished length of skirt is about 34".  Design licensed from KWIK.SEW Pattern Co., Inc.

Ladies A-Line Skirt

A pull-on, slightly flared skirt in a mid-calf length with elastic waist.  These skirts are a staple in our wardrobe.  Length is between 25" and 28", depending on size.  If you would like a longer skirt, a lengthened version will fall between 32" and 34".  The pictured eyelet trim is optional and adds a nice touch.  Design licensed from KWIK.SEW Pattern Co., Inc.

Ladies Prairie Skirt
A carefree long and flowing skirt. It comes with a large ruffle on the bottom and an elastic waistband. For winter it is very nice in denim or brushed cotton. In summer, choose a light calico. Sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters".

Ladies Tiered Skirt
Another carefree and fun skirt. Four tiers of fabric are sewn together to make a long and flowing skirt. Elastic waistband. To achieve the best fit, it would be helpful if you would give us your exact waist and hip size when ordering this skirt.  If you enjoy tiered skirts but dislike ironing them, try a Tropical Breeze fabric.  Final length is about 30".

Beach Skirt:
A shorter version of our above tier skirt that we use as a cover-up at the beach or pool. The skirt has 3 tiers and falls just about the knee on women of average height. To achieve the best fit, it would be helpful if you would give us your exact waist and hip size when ordering this skirt.

Rainbow Skirt

Our casual A-line skirt is brightened up with cascading fabric.  Ladies sizes will be even more colorful than the picture shows as the fabric moves from reds into green at the bottom of the skirt (see second picture).  Pull on elastic waist.  One fabric only.  You may request this skirt to be made in the opposite direction, with the bright green at the waist and the blue at the hem.  Please include this request on the checkout page.

Ladies Blouse
A simple and pretty blouse to wear with skirts and jumpers. Puffed sleeves come down to cuffs, pleats, or elastic drawn ruffles (cuffed and ruffle sleeves shown). Matches with Girls Blouse. This blouse is also very nice without the collar.  Due to many requests, we can now make this blouse with straight sleeves, removing most of the shoulder puffs from the shoulder seam.  Sewn by license from a pattern by "The Kings Daughters".

 Open Vest

Slightly different in style from our Ladies Vest, the Open Vest fits quite loosely and comes without any fastenings. Both front and back bodices are lined. We especially like this vest on warm days.

Summer Gown

Our summer nightgown is perfect for warm, muggy nights.  It is sleeveless and comes to just below the knee on the average woman.  The skirt portion is very full and while shorter for summer, it remains modest.

Adrienne's Gown

A pretty, comfortable nightgown for warm weather.  Adrienne's Gown comes to just below knee length on the average woman and has short sleeves, a modest but roomy neckline and a short button front bodice.  Design licensed from KWIK.SEW Pattern Co., Inc.

Winter Nightgown

This is the most comfortable nightgown we've found. It comes with a high yolk, long sleeves and long full skirt.  You may have short hemmed sleeves, 3/4 elastic ruffle sleeves or standard long elastic sleeves.  Try it in one of our flannels for extra warmth. Chelsea's Nightgown

A second nightgown that is equally comfortable and comes with some options.  The skirt is a little less full than our Winter Nightgown.  We can do short ruffled sleeves instead of long, or a summer nightgown that has short sleeves and comes to just below the knee.  For the winter, try a flannel or brushed cotton.  For a light nightgown, choose any of our cottons. Prairie Bonnet

An old fashioned but practical way to keep the sun off your face and neck on hot summer days.  Fabric ties fasten under the neck.  Choose any fabric or make a bonnet to go with a new dress.  If you have a very small head, we would recommend the Girl's Size XL which can be found on the Girl's Page.  Sewn by license from a pattern by "The King's Daughters."
