This three gore skirt is very similar to late Victorian skirts that were full and wide at the hem but slim at the waist. It is made with three gores which flow down from the gathered elastic waist and is cut to be comfortable in the waist and hips without being bulky. If you enjoy A-Line skirts but would like some more room at the hips and hem or simply some more "swish" when you walk, this would be a nice style to try. I like to make some summer skirts out of some bolder prints but this skirt is equally pretty in a solid or a small floral or even in heavier fabrics for winter. The finished length of this skirt is about 35" which hits the lower calf on most women. It can be shortened or lengthened by request above. To cut and fit this skirt and the elastic for the casing I will need your waist measurement. It is available in misses and plus sizing. Because there are an uneven number of gores in this skirt, side pockets are not offered in this style as an option. They would be offset to the front a bit as they'd be part of the front gore. If you'd still like them, go ahead and add $5 in the alteration section and I'll put them in for you.
A reenactor found that this skirt fit over her wide hoop and lengthened, it worked perfectly as part of her Civil War ensemble. For this option, please use the alteration section, add $10 and let us know how long you would like the skirt. We have plenty of reproduction fabrics for you to choose from.
